I'm trying to decide which arcade stick to buy to use on my pc.i like the look of the x - arcade stick and i've heard about adapters you can get to use console sticks.i was wondering what all you gamers were using and if anyone has any recomendations.i'm currently using a Saitek P2500 pad which is pretty good but not really accurate for fighting games.sorry kaz if this is in the wrong forum....seemed the best place to put it. thanks hullcityfcmad

Probably would have been best to put this in unrelated, but no worries The X-Arcade looks nice and I am considering getting one when I can afford it, but it is a bit pricey for me right now. As you say it's great because you can use it on almost any console, and I tried one at the ECTS in London last year and was impressed with the way it handled. Funnily enough you are using the exact same pad as me! It's a nice pad, but you are right - the d-pad is a little loose for some fighting games, especially when you need VERY precise motions. Kaz ps Liverpool FC is where its at (j/k)

lol - no glory supporter as I've been a fan since I was 5 (so that's 18 years now), and yeah, we've not exactly done that well in the past few years. At least I aint a ManUre supporter . Too bad my sister is though, but my parents are avid Leicester fans which isn't too bad. My boss is Leeds fan, so that gives me plenty of oppurtunity to take the piss ;D Kaz

From what I have been told bye a few people who's opinion I trust ,the X-Arcade sticks are very well made and perform as well as any cabinet control panel would. Only draw back to them would be the price, but if you want a decent stick that is the real thing I think they are worth the prices they go for. On the otherhand that type of stick setup is super easy to build on youre own for about 30% percent of what the X-Arcade sticks go for. Buttons and sticks are dirt cheap with the average stick costing about 8 to 13.00 and buttons around 45 cents a piece. take a look here and you can see whats envolved in building youre own stick www.arcadecontrols.com/arcade.htmparts can be had from either of these companies , I prefer Wico over Happ ,but either of them are top notch places to buy anything you may need. www.wicothesource.com/new2/default.htmwww.happcontrols.com/

It was alot of work but very very worth it , it is really great for the emulated classic games that are available for the PSX like the Williams ,Atari and Namco classics cd's One of these days I may wire a Jamma harness back into it so I can run a few arcade PCB's on it once again. Pics here groups.msn.com/myneogeoandohtergames/shoebox.msnw?Page=2 Lol I forgot the link was in my sig

Hey Hullcityfcmad:
As pricey as it may sound, I really recommend the X-Arcade. It feels so authentic and sturdy. I could beat the crap out of it with a hammer, and it would still play like new! (Though I really don't recommend you do that)
I own one of the console adapters for the Dreamcast, which I bought to use with Garou: MOTW and KOF 2002. If feels great, and zero lag, which some people claim plagues the X-Arcade's console support.
I actually bought mine when it first came out, which had a $200 price tag. I think they go for about $150 now, and includes a console adapter, which mine didn't. So, uh, yeah...buy it!
God, I should be an X-Arcade spokesman
