Well, I'm pretty used to pads too. The ps2 version of 02 has REALLY tight controls but I don't have any problems for the most part. And the last stick I owned was for my commodore 64. Only problem is, to do Vanessa's puncher weaving specials I either have to roll my thumb (not at all dependable) or play with my right hand fingers (and try to keep the dual shock stable half the match). I'd really like to add them to my repetoire but as it stands now, my pad just isn't suitable. So, odd as it may sound, I'm doing it for the right hand, not the left. I figure that if I have something big in my lap, I'll be able to use my fingers and not have to wrestle with my controller. It's all for my favorite kof lady

No worries m8. The SC2 stick is a really smart stick. I dont use sticks at all now though I play alot better with pads (saturn pad rocks).

Thanks for the advice! I'm leaning on the sc2 hori since it's cheaper and I'm really trying to cut corners. Although the neo geo one does really look nice... For the dreamcast, I'll probably just go without one. Thanks again, you've been very helpful!

The best one in that list is the Neo Geo stick. The others are crap especially the King of Fighters one. The stick is too stiff and the buttons aint very good either. The best stick ive used to far is Hori StickThis one is one of the best. Hori make the best sticks and this one is awesome for both street fighter games and Neo Geo games (as you can see if has a neo kinda 4 button accross layout). The only other decent stick is SC2 Hori StickThis is better for 6 button layout games so not really good for neo geo games. But I use a saturn pad but I dont use all 6 buttons i use just the 4 like on a snes (without the shoulder buttons) But if you dont like them I would suggest the Neo Geo one. But if your also gonna play 6 button layout fighters get the first Hori Stick.

Welcome to the forums Boogiepop!
I am also a recent re-discoverer of SNK (I used to play neo geo games in arcades over 10 years ago, though stopped playing when they took the machines away!)
For me it was Capcom vs Snk 2 that grabbed my attention and drove me to seek out the original King of Fighters and Samurai Showdown which were games I used to play all those years ago. However I've discovered many great titles that I were, until about 9 months ago, very much unaware of. I've still got lots of catching up to do on 15 years of SNK and am enjoying every minute of it!
May I take the opportunity to be a pain in the ass and add the following titles to your "have to try list". How about Garou: Mark of the Wolves, Waku Waku 7, Matrimelee, Art of Fighting 3, Rage of the Dragons, Ninja Masters or maybe a few shumps such as Blazing Star and Shock Troopers. You can get MOTW on Japan ps2 or DC, although for the above snk titles the neo geo originals (or emulation) are the only way to go. As for me, the desire to play these titles resulted in the rather expensive purchase of the gear to play mvs (neo geo arcade) games at home.
A good place to continue with your ps2 snk collection also is Metal Slug 3. An awesome game indeed.
Have a great time catching up on these great games!

Hi everybody! I bought KOF 02/03 for the ps2 a few months ago on a whim and have been in love with it ever since. The characters just have so much personality! And now for the past couple of weeks I've been looking over everything snk (well, fighters anyway) and trying to decide whether to buy a neo geo, import ps2, or better computer to play emulations. It's driving me nuts! All I know is, I HAVE to try Last Blade, Samurai Shodown, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum etc soon or I'm going to go crazy! Anyway, (losing track) hi everyone! (...and help!)

i loved the ngpc when it came out and got one for christmas that year. ahh fond memories of kof r-2 and sonic pocket adventure. svc on the ngpc was great. i still play it to this day. just seems a bit of a shame that the rest of the franchise (both snk and capcom's attempts) never really surpassed it, and an even bigger shame that they shit-canned it so early.

I was crazy about the NGPC back in the day - but I played all the games I wanted to death and then the console came to an unfortunate (and premature) end. I still enjoy the odd game of SVC though, and wish I still had Neo Turfmasters! ;D Now THERE'S a game I wish I hadn't sold...

Think he means the NGPC verson - I never really played the game much on the NGPC, so I couldn't review it, so we'd need someone to submit one if possible. Welcome to the forum Kaz
