I just dled the first episode (In japanese) on overnet, it was great quality and around 170 megs. I couldn't understand what was going on but i understood enough to know the show was very well done. Excellent fluid animation, (though some people are drawn funky lookin its part of the artists style) beautiful colors and nice voice dubbing. The only thing that turned me off honestly was the opening music, some rap song in english by somebody that can't flow too well imo. (probably because he can't speak english to well to begin with)

Finally, some positive things mentioned by some peeps that have seen it-

"I knew of the series, watched the trailer on the of.site, and got everything i expected. awesome fluent dynamic action, no lazy frozen stills (like the usual put-one-pic-and-roll-the-dialogue-for-a-while), and charas with charismatic personalities. there are not many high quality anime series, but samurai champloo has no problem finding a spot in my top 3 between the creator's previous 'cowboy beebop' and production-i.g.'s 'stand alone complex'. besides...it's way easier to understand than the latter."

Excellent. While I love witch hunter robin I hope this one focuses much more on action like cowboy bebop.

I wish i knew when the release date was... I hope soon, can't read the news on the site in jap. so i have no clue whats goin on with the project.
