Neostore had 10 brand new AES systems for sale a while back, but the price was even higher ($1500+ if I remember correctly). They sold out pretty fast despite of the ridicilously high price tag...
In my opinion buying a brand new system isn't worth it because you can get a used system with many games for the same price.
