i actually quite liked this game. though like mr. kazuya over there, i also think the neo geo pocket match of the millennium still remains the best crossover title to date.
from there though its all gone a little bit repetative which each game having less and less new to add. a little like the time sf2 was all the rage and capcom kept updating it so much that the only way to make it seem fresh again was to completely overhaul it with street fighter alpha.
so the strange and unfamiliar roster, e.x. moves and the first decent announer for a long time kinda reminded me of when i played sfa for the first time and once again started to take interest in the series.
that said, it does have its faults, having to beat the game within a certain time in order to see the endings was many lame, so too were some of the backgrounds like the abandoned station and factory which were rushed, bland, and generally crap, as well as the lack of dodges and running. also, it would nice if they changed mai's voice so it wasn't so bloody annoying when she wins.
but having said that, i found playing the capcom characters in an snk style was certainly more fun than the case in cvs2 where some characters like iori and joe were virtually unstoppable, while others like mai and athena played as if they were seriously monged.
and while the backgrounds in svc on the whole arn't up there with say, the best from kof98-2000 they're certainly miles better than capcom's approach of having lo-res srpites against hi res 3d backgrounds. though precisely why snk have chosen to do this with the stuff in development is pobably best known to themselves.
anyway, what i'm trying to say is that svc chaos is a pretty good game in my opinion and with a little more thought and attention any sequels could well turn out to be future classics and maybe, just maybe, beat match of the millennuum in terms of fantastitude.
