I thought of some other interesting neogeo memories.
I remember being so young that I thought "NeoGeo" was the name of whatever fighting game that was being demoed on the arcade machine.
Likewise, I thought AOF2 must have been a sequal to Street Fighte. though I was never sure about why they changed Guile's name to Johnny, or Ryu to Ryo...
