Falcoon isn't the artist for KOF XI, but it looks like that might be because he is (apparently) working as a producer now. I'll let the links speak for themselves, but apparently the next 3D KOF will be next gen consoles, probably Xbox 360 and PS3... so it might be a long wait!

I had been wondering what Falcoon (whose artwork I admire greatly) was working on, and now we know. I think it is VERY good news that he is not only working on character design, but also as the producer of this title, because like many of us, Falcoon is an SNK fan... he started off doing fan art, and was later hired by SNK... so maybe he will be slightly more in touch with what fans would like to see in the game. I must admit that unlike a lot of fans out there, I did enjoy playing The King of Fighters Maximum Impact. Originally I thought it would be horrendous, but it turned out a lot better than I expected, despite the fact that I'm usually a 2D purist and hate to see 2D games converted to 3D. Having said that, there was definitely a lot of room for improvement, so it will be interesting to see how it turns out.
This leads me to another thing: according to IGN's speculation, the timing of this indicates that Max Impact 2 will actually be for the next gen consoles, not the current PS2 and Xbox. This will most likely mean a PS3 and Xbox 360 release, although it's feasible (if unlikely in my opinion) that it could be released for the Nintendo Revolution as well. I wonder how well the game will compare with other upcoming next gen titles? Either way, this is a game that I will be eagerly anticipating... not quite as much as KOF XI however!
