Well, seeing as SNKP made new sprites for KOF 2003, I doubt they'd want to waste them... expect KOF 2004 to feature the same old re-hashed sprites, even on Atomiswave (although I sincerely hope I am wrong).
I agree KOF has gone downhill somewhat since KOF 98 (and even 99 which I do still like), but KOF 2003 was definitely a massive improvement in quality compared to the previous few years... so wtf are they doing with Neo Wave, even if it is just a side project?? One thing I just remembered though... you know when you complete KOF 2002 and you get a pic with some of the bosses standing there at the end of the credits? On the PS2 version you get that same picture, but it has actually been redrawn in hi res and looks quite cool... and gives you some idea of how KOF could actually look on Atomiswave if done properly.
So far Neo Wave looks like a total waste of time, and the only positive things I can say is that the art looks nice and the music will probably be good. Other than that I gotta say that I won't been stumping up the cash for an AW system any time soon
