I wouldn't say it is a total spamfest but there is a slight bit more of a button mashing element to it as you can do some small combos with some characters that are just hard kick x 3 and stuff like that. They are easily blocked though, and to me the game doesn't play THAT much different to the 2D KOF's... obviously it isn't totally the same and I much prefer 2D KOF, but it finds a good balance between the two in my himble opinion. Another good thing is that it is much easier to persuade my friends to play this one, whereas they wouldn't normally touch a KOF. Perhaps this will chane their mind in time if they start to like this one
