I didn't actually like the artwork in 98 at all... the intro was fine, but the rest of it was done by someone else iirc and it was nasty imho. in '99 it was way better and more consistent, while 2000 was probably the best overall. Can't believe you actually like *anything* in 2001 though 
... that was some of the worst interpretations of SNK characters I have ever seen personally, but 2002 was a massive improvement thankfully.
2003 is really nice though, I wonder if Falcoon will still be doing stuff for SNK when 2004 comes out?
