Sorry to say it, but it looks like I was probably right about US releases of the ports to PS2. Check this link:

So in other words, Sony doesn't want a 2D game with so called "crappy graphics" to be released for their console. It's weird because they let KOF 2000/2001 pack out, but I think that's because that was a value bundle or something.
I have the Japanese versions and have owned the MVS carts anyway so it's not a big deal for me, but this really sucks for a lot of people. I love my PS2 to death, but Sony USA can kiss my ass when they make decisions like this.

Before I post the email I received from Ben Herman this morning, let me say that I have hit my last straw with the PS2. I will still play the games I have (Strikers 1945 being one of them), but I will not buy another PS2 game. Finito!
