2001 doesn't play too bad, it's just that it looks fugly with aweful backgrounds, horrible presentation and horrendous music that's insulting to the ears. Gameplay is the main consideration, but although 2001 is good it just doesn't feel like a proper KOF game to me.
2002 is cool though... far from perfect and my opinion of it has decreased a little since I did the review, but it is still a better game than 2001 imho. 2003 blows them both away though
