Actually people always get confused with the OST/AST thing - what you are hearing now is OST, it's the original soundtrack. Doesn't matter if it sounds the same quality as the "arranged" soundtracks of Neo Geo games, it's still the original music from the game.
Both NGBC and KOF XI are getting AST's on the PS2 version of the game. Neither need them really, but it will be interesting to see how they turn out
