Nice topic! 
1. AOF3 probably has more frames overall, but I still think MotW's animation is better as it seems a bit less "stiff" than AOF3.
2. MVS is better if you ask me, but B has a good point about the new games only coming out in AES format now. So, I guess it just depends on how much cash you wanna blow
3. Depends on whether you mean graphically or gameplay wise? KOF 94 was great for its time as it was something new that hadn't really been done before, but even back then the graphics weren't really the best. 96 on the other hand was a huge step forwards for the series in terms of graphics (and musically) and SNK did change the gameplay a fair bit. KOF 98 was impressive because it bought together almost everyones fave characters from KOF and put them all together in one superbly produced fighting game.
It's a tough one to judge, but I would probably say 98 was the most impressive for its time (mainly because it was a KOF fanboys dream), with 96 a close second.
