That is taking an mvs cart and converting it to aes via a sacrificial cart that is used as a host for the new cart. The chips in the sac cart are taken off then the sac cart can be restored or the chips can be transferred to the mvs cart. This is a questionable process and very expensive. Personally I prefer to use the phantom 1 adaptor to play mvs carts.
