Well said Candycab... As Candycab said, the arcade probably won't exist in the next generations of young players, which is a huge loss for them. I remember the happy memories that as a young lad I used to pump coins in the arcades in Hong Kong playing streetfighter 2 or samurai shodown 2, with tons of people watching, waiting in line; now, the number of people in the arcades greatly decrease, at least from where I presently live (toronto). Playmore would love to change hardwares but they can't. There are not a great deal of MVS running out there, at least from where I live, all you see when you walk in the arcdes at location is people playing Guilty Gear XX on Sammy's atomiswave machine, or Streetfighter 3 on CPS3. Playmore's profit base is considerably lower then it's major competitors, they know they can't risk failing again (as with the neogeo 64). I greatly admire how Playmore is still able to produce great games for a dated hardware (the product line-up this year is probably one of the most exciting for MVS fans), but Playmore can't survive long depending solely on their MVS. They are making some progress already, like allegedly producing their work (KOF 2003) on Sammy's atomiswave machine. Venturing in the console market, as Canycab pointed out, is a way out. The fall of arcades do not hurt companies like capcom that much, since they make big profits on the console market. Therfore, as Candycab said, Playmore really need to venture in the console market for long term survival.
