I wanna buy one but before i do i need some questions answered to help make my descision.1. how much better is mvs than the emulators that play the games out thier and why? ( tell me about graphic diff )
2. should i get super nova arcade or should i make my own?
3. what parts do i need, where can i buy them and is thier any step by step tutorial on how to assemble it?
thanx for your help ;D
1. This is a subject that is open for debate. Some people don't care at all where they play their games, but others do. I personally cannot get into playing any game seriously on an emulator, whereas I can spend hours playing games on the real system. Even playing Neo stuff on a TV using Kawa-X for the Xbox just doesn't feel the same to me. As for whether the graphics look better on the real system, I think they do a little. They tend to look REALLY pixellated on a PC monitor, and although there are different video filters to use that make it look a little better, I still prefer the output on the real system.
2. Depends on how what skills you have with soldering/electronics. If you are fairly competent then you could easily put together a supergun, as itisn't too hard. If you are a complete novice like myself then you would be better off buying one... but if you can make one you'll save yourself a LOT of money
3. I do say this a lot, but the best place for info on building a supergun would be the tech support forum at www.neo-geo.com . A lot of people there have built their own superguns so they have a lot of experience. Take a look at the posts on that forum, and if you need some help then ask there, as someone should be able to give you some good advice.
Before you buy one, the main questions you should ask yourself is how serious are you about playing Neo Geo stuff, and much money are you willing to spend on it. Although MVS is far cheaper and better for gamers than the home cart stuff, it can still be a very expensive game to get into. For me it was well worth it and I definitely don't regret it, but this might not be the case for all other people.
Hope that helps - if you need anything else then let us know and we'll do what we can
