I don't know much about Nazca (apart from it being ex Nazca employees apparently), but I heard that those employees from Nazca went to work for SNK, so the later games in the series (apart from 4) were all done by the same people more or less. Games like Metal Slug 4 were licensed out to Mega Enterprises etc while Playmore/SNK were still restructuring - at that time they probably couldn't produce any games in house.
The problem with this is that it led to lower quality games, meaning SNK Playmore got the blame for them not being up to scratch. Some might say that they shouldn't have licensed these games out, but at the end of the day they had to at least produce a few titles so the fans knew they were still there. Same goes for that past couple of KoF games (KOF 2000 was the last made by the old SNK), but now development is being done back where it should be (with SNK themselves) we should hopefully see much better quality titles. If Metal Slug 5 and KOF 2003 are not up to the quality we would expect then I would expect a serious backlash from the fans...
As for the headphone thing, I definitely agree with that. At night-time I often plug a pait of headphnes into my TV to play Neo stuff, or any games for that matter, or even movies. Because you can't hear anything else that is going on around you, you really get sucked in by the atmosphere of the game, which is very cool. It's especially good for horror games like Silent Hill... it really leaves you feeling on edge!
Candycab: I've heard a lot of people say that they thought SS2 sounded worse than SS1, but I don't agree personally. A lot of people actually think that SS1 is a better game overall too, but I guess that's a subject for another game discussion
. Speaking of that, I'll change the topic for discussion to MS2 when I get home from work later.
