So just a while ago I decided to sit down and play some Neo ;D I havent touched mine in probablya month or so ,been really busy with work and have wanted to play games but it just felt too much like work.
You know when you get that itch to play but just cant seem to bring youreself to do it.
Anyway I poped Slug 1 in and started kicking some ass and then decided that I havent used my headphones in a while and got them out
These are what I use for my Neo www.epinions.com/elec_Audio-Headphones_Sony_MDR_C-Sony_MDR-CD60
Definitly the best mini jack headphones I have ever heard hands down ! Im no big Sony fan but they got these right from the get go
If you run a headphone board with youre MVS get these headphones ,trust me it will be money well spent ! Ive had mine for about 3 years now and they work flawlesly to this day ,and yes I use mine at high volume levels ;D They even reproduce bass very well when the lows hit ,I was pretty suprised when I first used them.
I used them quite a bit for listening to games and music on my 3DO while playing other consoles or my PC ,I still use them for those late night rockout sessions at 3AM when my neighbors wouldnt be to happy
Anyway if you need mini jack headphones these are worth the $30.00 price.
Ok so back to the real post here ;D the sound output of Slug 1 through headphones is absolutly amazing for a Neo Geo game ! In reality most Neo games are very scratchy sounding and its instantly noticable when using headphones. Slug ! however isnt suprisingly enough.
If you guys have the means to run this game through headphones bye all means do it ! you can almost get a surround sound effect if you run the cabinets speakers just a bit louder than the headphones ;D which sounds pretty damn cool !
For you guys who dont know about the MVS Headphone boards here is a few shots of mine ;D

And here is a shot of the final cabinet instilation ,http://groups.msn.com/myneogeoandohtergames/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=54 this cab wasnt designed for headphones or a memory card reader, I plan on adding a memory card reader as well as a 4 slot at some point.
The card reader will go where you see the 4 little felt pen marks below the headphone jacks , I was origionally going to mount the headphone board down there but then decided to squeeze them up top , which was quite a challenge in this cabinet and almost didnt work.
