First off, i can say that i have played this game so many times i can go thru the entire game and all its enemy's mentaly. This is my fav. metal slug that i have completely played out on the MVS, on psx, and kaillera net play 
I do agree that the bosses are a little unbalanced and too easy but i can forgive that, i know its a bit short but i think its perfect length for one sitting. (i can't force myself to go all the way thru 3 in one sitting) The greatness of the animations like in all the metal slugs and the beauty of the shotgun has already been mentioned by kaz, mslug1 is definately my fav. shooter on the neo and sidescrolling action game/series of all time
