It was much longer than I anticipated. Especially for a shooter.
I would see some crazy looking boss, or something new would happen (You would see a silhoutte of the grim reaper on the weapons selection screen) and think to myself, I must be close to the last level. But, I wasn't...
GP definetely has over 15 levels. And they keep recycling the music. I stated in my original post it was six hours, but I guess that was a bit of an overstatement. Probably about 2 1/2 or three hours is more like it. (Especially if you are using save states with the bosses.)
On a different note, I recently played Blazing Star, and I must say, I was completely amazed that it was entirely done on the Neo Geo, especially that second level that looks 3D.
