Well, we sorta gotta keep in mind the neo can only display so and so many colors. I think the BGs are pretty good myself, although I also thought the KOF2000 BGs were good 
If I was to be nitpicky though, I really would have liked a scrolling sky for Adel's background. The static sky just isn't doing it for me.
Oh yeah, and Adel as a playable character actually seems kinda cheap. His walk is ultra fast, and his jump is super high. I wonder if SNKP is gonna do anything with him in further KOFs. (I like him much more than Rugal though)
