Well, i myself am a native of Cuba. The people in cuba are very friendly, and if they call you a name or something, its a sign of friendship. Also some people can be somewhat obnoxious because our culture is very outgoing- this just is used alot because people are so used to doing it they dont realize it could be offensive or something lol. Just try to be yourself, and enjoy your time there! I hope everything goes well for you. Also a holiday thats coming up is noche buena, the day before christmas(dec. 24th) (i dont know if you will want to celebrate because it is a very christian holiday) but there is a large dinner, and dancing, parties. Oh, and dont expect to get a cuban sandwhich because that was an invention of cubans from miami so if u order one, you might get a blank look(it has happened to many of my friends) And the top sport is baseball! so youll probably hear lots of talk about the US leagues, and youll probably see lots of street games. I envy you because i havent been to Cuba in quite some time....Also if u get a chance to go to the country, please do it is gorgeous. The city, however is quite old and decaying.
Hope you have a wonderful time in Cubanita la bella!
