As for hte movie, yeah of course it was overhyped, and considering the money Square obviously pumped into the visuals it was bound to be. However I can't fault the movie at all - I didn't expect the storyline to be stellar, I just wanted something to give me some closure from the game, and also to just entertain me... and with the spectacular action it certainly did that.
Couple of my fave bits, disguised for people who haven't seen it yet:
The ringtone joke... that cracked me up big time, when I heard it I just knew it had to be a mobile phone or something! 
The way Cloud finished off Sephiroth was awesome... also the "I.... won't be just a memory" quote before he vanishes was cool I thought.
