I was thinking about adding a couple of sub boards (using the new sub boards feature of PBV4) to both the unrelated discussion and anime sections of the forum, which will maybe give people more of a reason to keep coming back here. Both boards will be for discussion of shows that members here regularly watch. We've had a Family Guy discussion thread, a Simpson's one and maybe one or two others, and there have been a few in the anime forum too, like the Basilisk and Samurai Champloo ones.
What I was thinking is if I make a sub board for regular TV series discussion, open a number of threads for each series, and then make a locked sticky thread which will basically contain an alphabetical index of all the threads for various TV shows so people can easily find them. At the start I'll open threads for the more obvious stuff that I know people in here watch like Family Guys etc etc, but people could also open their own threads to discuss other shows in future. If someone else does open a thread of their own, then one of us mods can simply edit the stickied index thread to add a link to that show.
This will make it so that people can pop in and discuss new episodes as they are released or any other news to do with that series in the relevant thread, and maybe give people a reason to keep popping back in here. Perhaps it might give others who wouldn't regularly hang around in a Neo Geo forum reason to come here often. It's just an idea and one that I think I will definitely try out... if it doesn't work out then I can easily scrap it
After that I can do a similar thing to the Anime section, and we can make threads for regular discussion of the many series that are released by fansub groups. Again, it might not be too busy at the start, but hopefully we can try and attract some more people to start going in there, and that in turn might make the regular anime discussion board a bit busier etc etc. What do you guys/gals think?
