When I say sneak previews I don't necessarily mean news about games or screenshots etc. I don't believe in withholding stuff like that from people, as in my opinion it should ALL be shared with everyone, posted on the main site and in the neo geo forum section. What I mean is stuff that is being worked on on the actual site... like when I was doing the fan art section, the first person I showed was you, and then a few other mods, and you guys gave some suggestions on it. I've done this in the past with reviews that I have written too, but it would be kinda cool to also share stuff like this with some more visitors on the site so they can get a sneak preview and make suggestions etc, before it goes public. People in that section wouldn't HAVE to contribute (just a few comments on stuff we work on would be cool enough), but that would hopefully be the general idea.
i think main site content and updates should be kept generally available to the main site and forums no matter what. and also, mentioning new ideas for site/forums is ok but the i think the idea turning into a plan and is being made (like test pages of new features for site, forum makeover) should be kept under wraps for a little while to surprise members so that they're reactions like "OMG! this is cool!" or "what a surprise!"
what i also mean is it shouldn't be necessary to reach a certain user level ( i forgot to mention this ) like you stated:
Opening two new sections on the forum that only mods and people who have the required user level can access:
oh yeah, i know one forum that's totally foreign-languaged yet proboards seem to not make a move on that forum. don't know why, but i think the language thing isn't really too much of an offense, especially if it's just a thread or two
