i have an exam tomorrow morning so i really havn't the time to read all the arguments. but it was an amazing game. sure, penalties are always the worst way of ending final since its really all down to luck at the end of the day. but to come back in the second half against ac milan like that is no small feat and for that they deserved it in my opinion. reminds me of that bit in "the day today" (old spoof of newsnight written by the legendary chris morris, for those not in the loop) when alan partridge is doing football commentary for the world cup and this goal comes out of nowhere at which point he screams on live tv: "shit! did you see that!!!?... he's must have a foot like a traction engine". those lines summed up the game for me.
despite getting a little to ambitions towards the end of the second half, gerrard rocked. so did dudek even if he did make a few mistakes and yes stepping over the line like that, i mean, wtf??!! how did the linesman not see that?
that said however, milan got one or two wholly undeserved free kicks so it pretty much balances out when you think about it.
