I actually heard about this late yesterday in an IRC channel and at first I thought it was a joke. Right now I'm just totally shocked - although I was never the biggest Pantera fan I did appreciate them a lot and I did listen to Damageplan a fair bit when their album was originally released. Regardless though, like you said it definitely proves how fucked up things are in this world. 
One of the worst parts is we'll probably never know the true motives for this shit, especially seeing as the guy killed at least one innocent fan in the crowd and a few others... it's a sad, twisted and fucked up world man... even more fucked up when you see shit like this:

What a complete and utter prick... I know it's childish to say this but imho it's twisted greedy people like that who deserve Dimebags fate...
RIP Dimebag Darrell, another one gone but not forgotten! Hopefully he's forming a mosh pit up in heaven already ;D
