If you feel brave you could try taking the cover off the PS2, removing the top part of the DVD drive and adjusting the white cog that determines the angle of the laser. I had to get my PS2 repaired some time ago as it was completely fubar, and it was ok for a long time but has been slightly flaky recently... adjusting the cog (VERY carefully) and cleaning the lens did the trick to a certain extent and I can now play almost all CD/DVD games, but in time it will definitely need to be fixed again properly. Failing that I may just buy one of the new slimline PS2's... If you want instructions for adjusting the cog I can dig out a link for you. Kaz yeah sure i could use that... though i think my lens could use some cleaning since the area is a bit too dusty a few questions though: is the PS2 lens more sensitive than the typical CD player/PS1 or is it the thing that repairmen tell people so that we have to always go to them for cleaning dirty lens to protect their business? any PS2 cleaner in the market ? does DVD cleaner work well enough for the PS2? pardon the many questions for i need to get my gaming fix aside from the CAPCOM games... (i've been playing them a lil' too much for my tastes )
