Hey all!
I have updated the forum to have a brand new design, so it now looks a bit nicer, and I have been adding some nice new features that you should all enjoy:
1. New emoticons - most of the smileys are new better looking ones and I have also added a few extras that we didn't have before! You will also notice that *all* the smilies now appear in the same place, instead of some being in a little box at the top of the screen like before.
2. Private message alert - if you are already logged in and someone sends you a message, if you happen to go back to the main page you will get an alert window to ask if you want to read it. This only happens on the main page, I could add it for all other pages too but I thought it might get annoying.
3. New forum images - you'll notice that there are few new images, for instance the rank images that appear next to your name are new ones that I made. Hopefully you will like them (I think they are a lot better cos it gives us more of a "NeoGeo theme" to the place), but if there are objections about these (or any other new additions), then they can be changed later.
4. Many other various changes - I'll leave you to find them out, but if you have any problems on the new forum, then please let me know and I'll fix them asap! ;D
Known issues:
Some things still won't work in the Firefox browser, so I will try to work those issues out (I also use firefox myself so I know it is a pain). For now I suggest using IE or AvantBrowser just for visiting this forum, but hopefully either firefox will support the extra code I added in a later version, or I will be able to find a fix for it!
edit: I added an extra option for picking smilies that should work ok for Netscape/Firefox users - when posting, look at the top of the screen and you will see a link that says "Click here to see more smilies" - click that and a box will open up containing the smilies. I also added this because it has a few extra smilies in it that were too big to put in the normal smily box... check 'em out!!
That's about the only issue I can think of at the moment, but one thing that *must* be changed is the banner at the top of the screen. As the banner used was made by someone over at Solid Snake Designs I can't really edit it too much without permission... but it is ok to change the "black drake" name part (b.d. is the name of the skin used if you are wondering).
So... if any of you with l337 gfx skills would like to do some work on the banner to make it more themed with the site, then please let me know in this thread! I think it would be ok to edit the middle part to be a little bit more SNK themed, so feel free to do that. Or... if you would like to make a totally new banner (provided it fits in with the design), that would be cool too! Before you set to work, hold on for a bit as we may hold a competition on the forum/site for someone to design us a new banner, and I may throw in an MVS cart for the winner!
More on this VERY soon though!
