Imagine having all of Rourouni Kenshin on 1 freakin disc 
how cool would that be
... also they come in different sizes as well like 23 gigs, 25 gigs, 50 gigs, 54 gigs and more ... 
It would be a must for newer age consoles to have bigger disc space to detail the game to perfection (graphics, sound, gameplay, level of detail, physics engines etc) and to have extra's and so on ...
Like i said only Sony plan to use this technology for it's PlayStation 3 no other future consoles can (Exclusive rights to Sony and developers ... which in turn have been contracted 2 Sony)

This is a prototype version so expect the machine much smaller ...
U could do so many cool stuff with this new Blu-ray technology example record ur favourite tv program on Blu-ray disc or on DVD's ... or record multiple stuff at once

Also it's fully backwards compatable with DVD's, CD's, etc etc ...
And ofcourse it's gone have all the new sound file combatablity e.g. MP3 etc etc ...
It's kinda not fair why does Japan have to have all the Latest technology and we have 2 wait 3 years for it to ship down to our shores
Ohh welll just a few more months to wait ...
Ohh and this new Blu-ray stuff is gona abolish DVD's and CD as well ... not much harm done look wat ur gona get in return for it HD material
