Yes I was really in the Marine Corps & I am now a Vetran twice over{ 1988/89 to 1994/97 inactive , Panama in 88/89 & Kuwait in 90 } Handling any gun shouldnt be a problem for anyone {its nothing more than a tool like a hammer or a shovel} , there really cant be a " natural " on any battlefield since everything you do is squad based for maximum firepower in small clusters. That is what keeps soldiers alive during conflicts.
These are things that take alot of time and work to learn and become proficent in nomatter who the person maybe. You really have to learn to trust everyone in youre squad and viceversa to be the very best they can be in their job to function as one if you want to go home intact. These are things that we as animals just dont seem to have any instinct for.

I suppose some people take to learning some things faster than others may, but a non trained person in an engagement wouldnt be breathing for long regardless of how good they are with a weapon. No one can go it alone and unless you are in sync with those around you ,you will be alone.
