I nearly laughed myself to death with this Hong Kong movie last night. Best thing I can compare it with is a cross between Fortress and Braindead. Gruesome and outrageously gory.
I thought I had seen my share until I see somebody choking another person with his own intestines. And if the hero finds himself confronted with a broken vein, well then he just ties the two parts back together, no? Add to that punches going through heads and various other body parts (yay, Fist of the North Star!!!) and prisoners going through meat grinders, and it's fun all the way.
Plot: It is the year 2001. 21 year old Ricky Ho, who has sworn vengeance on all drug dealers for the killing of his girlfriend, is convicted for murder and sentenced to a maximum security prison. Inside he must face both the sadistic prisoners and the brutal warden, who is obsessed with knowing where Ricky spent the last two years. Both combine together to torture and kill Ricky, but Ricky fights back, having learnt special breathing techniques that give him enhanced martial arts abilities.
In one word: awesome
