The first movie was great fun I thought... it wasn't the greatest movie ever, but at least they kept it reasonably close to the original, and of course you had Christopher "there can be only one" Lambert hamming it up as Raiden ("I don't think so!"), which was cool. Second movie flat out sucked though... I mean shit, that whole underground travel section near the start sends shivers down my spine 
There's a third movie on the way and it sounds like it could be half decent this time... they are bringing back the original actors and apparently ditching everything that happened in MK2 as if it was some sort of dream, so it might be ok.
edit: there now seems to be no mention of a third MK movie on IMDB.com... it's like it's been canned or something. Oh well...
