Yes very heavy rock... thrash metal in fact. Difference with Killswitch though is that there's a lot of screaming and shouting, but the lead singer (both the old and the new one) can sing really well too, and some of the music is VERY melodic and just downright cool. The first album is a must buy if you like this kind of thing, while the 2nd album seems pretty damn kick ass too
