Quentin Tarantino did not have anything to do with making Hero, but basically what happened was that Miramax (being the dumb fucks that they are) decided to buy the western rights for the film and just shelve it and not release it. They only agreed to release it because Tarantino wanted to to see it come out (preferably unedited), so they agreed but only if he put his name to the project so that it would sell more. I did some checking around and it seems like this is the reason it took so long to come out and how has QT's name on it.
I fucking hate these dumbass movie companies.
