Not got it yet no, but I will do as soon as I can. What you said about it is pretty much what I expected really, so I doubt I'll be disappointed. Oh, I think I heard that damage to the cars will be added in GT5... they said it was too much work to get it into GT4, plus it's hard to get the license from all the car manufacturers so that they can do it.Not really gameplay related, but I got a question for ya - did they actually bother to include a volume option for the sound/music in this one? I remember one really annoying thing about GT3 was that you couldn't turn up the volume on the music, so in game you could barely hear it, so I just turned it off most of the time. And while we are on the subject, what is the soundtrack like, any good?
Really gotta get this game!!!
Kaz
I agree Kaz ... The sound volume thing really pissed me off in # 3 aswell... Happilly they did fix that and once again you can turn the volume of everything up or down individually.
The soundtrack is very good this time around , lots of music compared to the few that were on #3 here is a quick run down of the artists for ya.
Judas Priest
Joe Satriani
Borialis
Apollo 440
Chronic Future
Rock N Roll Soldiers
The Crystal Method
Dirty Americans
Bootsy & Friends ... gotta love Bootsy Collins, that dude is The master of Funk with a Bass ;D
The Donnas
The Roots
Jeff Beck
Earth Wind and Fire
Papa Roach
Mr Natural
The Commodores
Diesel boy and Chaos
Yello
Less than Jake
The Blasters

Wylde Bunch
The X-ecutioners

Van Halen ... Panama ,which they used in the opening movie aswell as in the game... much better than #3's opening bye far
Thats about it , most of the artists have only 1 song but there are a few that I didnt list since I think they are just inhouse musicians from Solstice music inc.
There is a play list that you can modify which is easier to access than it was in 3 .. Its actually a jukebox icon on youre world map. You can set different orders for racing ,the menu or you photo slide shows. Overall the music is about half rock and half hip hop/techno ,so there is something for most people I suppose.
I was just reading and experiencing for my self , that every week in the game they swap cars randomly in and out of the 3 used car lots in the game. They will throw in at random a car that has almost no miles on it for a fraction of the price it was new, that is a pretty cool idea.
I was reading some speculation as too why they didnt implement damage into the game and a few developers said they most likely couldnt get the PS2 to do a good job of it and still have a beautiful game graphicaly with all of its little tweaks. That wouldnt suprise me one bit considering how old the hardware is and I bet the developers have found and pushed the machine to its limits.
One thing that still bothers me is they cant seem top ever get a V8 engine of any make sounding correctly... ? To make it worse they seem to have gotten a few right in this version but when you add engine upgrades the low rumble { which wasnt very deep to begin with } comes out sounding like a droning 6 cylinder..... 1970 LS6 Chevelle's dont sound like a 3000GT nor does an R-Code Mustang....
One cool thing is the spectators on the sides of the roads are starting to resemble 3D people instead of cardboard like usuall....Some even move fairly realisticly bye turning their heads and bodies to follow you when you pass...The coolist of tyhe animations bye far are a few that jump out infront of youre speeding car to snap a few photos then jump back out of the road just before you give them a lift
Bye the way this game does run at 60FPS in 1080i for those who have an HDTV
