If you read the date on that article, you'll see it's quite old. I don't mean to sound like a bitch or anything, but there hasn't been any news on it in months, maybe even a year... so god knows what's happening with it, or if it is even going to come out. 
I agree though, Sammy vs SNK could be awesome... but SNK vs Capcom vs Sammy would be even better
. I doubt it will happen though, and can you imagine how much of a bitch it would be to make a game like that well balanced and playable? ;D
