I did hear a couple of reports of certain mods causing damage to PSTwo's, but so long as you get the right chip it should be ok... also the one guy that I know of at the PC fairs (based in Coventry I believe) does give a gaurantee, so if anything was to go wrong with the mod then you'd be ok.
How come you didn't want to play SF3 on the PS2? Cos of the lack of online play? Personally I wouldn't play it anyway cos it suxors imho... but yeah I know I'm one of the few
