I bought my Genesis about the 2nd week they were out.
I remember spending upwards of $600.00 at Toys R Us that day ,mine was the origional Altered Beast pack in with headphone port and volume on the front.
That was and still is one of the best consoles ever created to date,while my origional puked out a few years back and is no more ,I do have a 3rd generation model here as well as the 32Y lol ;D and the SMS convertor
If you like platformers and never tried it , you need to get a copy of " Mickey Mouse & The Castle of Illusions " Probably the best platformer of that age { yeah it kiced Marios ass all over the street too } there was nothing with the level of graphics of that game and the game play was/is excelent.
There were soo many great games on the Genesis ,espicially the flying shooters like the Thunder Force series and the 1st EA Golf game { PGA Tour }was top notch and I think only rivaled bye Neo Turfmasters in its pick up ,play and have instant fun. Streets of Rage is still about the best brawler for my money ....excelent system with some truely great games that are suprisingly still just as much fun today as they were back then which makes for a keeper in my book
