Maybe I am crazy but 97 was perfect for me. I hate KOF 03 because of no Kensou and cheap Duo Lonthough i prefer 98 to 97, some of the comboes there, just like you said, were easier to execute in 97 using certain characters like Joe, Terry, and Yamazaki
i've alwas been annoyed on some of Capcom's music too, for hardly any of their bg soundtrack seem to stand out at all. worst has to come from CvS2 in my opinion.
oh yeah has any of you tried Deadly Arts for Nintendo 64? never actually played it but from what i've seen of it, it looks like a terrible fighting game...
