I think Capcoms composers all died after completing work on Darkstalkers 3... it just seems after that time (more or less) they changed their musical style totally and started doing stuff like MVC2's music etc etc. Capcom used to have some of the best musicians in the world next to SNK/Noise/Konami, but not anymore imho.
For the record though, I kinda like CVS and CVS2's music... I wouldn't usually like that type of music in a game but for some reason I find it strangely addictive
