A lot of PC engine shoot em ups(Soldier blade, Lord of thunder, etc,etc) and still one of the most fun beat em ups i still enjoy is Double Dragon 2 on the 8-bit nintendo.The hyper knee RAAAAWKS!!!!!

we used to have famicoms with turbo buttons so that we can Hyper-knee to victory all throughout the game when we were cheap-assed kids back then ;D
not only that, when single player i select "2 player game B" so that there won't be any "friendly fire". the sick thing behind the mode is, if you kill off your buddy, you get his life! now that's 7 lives (i think) to start with in the game
