Metal Marines is indeed a snes strategy game(there was a pc version too though). It's more intense then advance wars since it is realtime. You basically have your island and the enemy island dueling to see who can blow up each others bases first. You can be attacked at any time so you really have to think fast and build your units wisely although some luck is also involved.
