I find those comments somewhat offensive, are you trying to say that rpg's are only for kids? About "some variety" i think an rpg about ninja's is some variety, mario rpg 2 was already released for the gba along Fire Emblem and pretty much any rpg's released for the gba so far are just sequels, so this game is infact giving some variety.
Also, is there anything wrong it turning into a small PSX, after all it PSX was a great system. Nintendo games mostly cater to kids anyways, the fact that there are lots of variety in the gba releases so far like the PSX is a good thing atleast imo because there are games for everyone and not just nintendo lovers. (It's especially great to see sega making games for it) Anyways, i'm not trying to be a dick or anything, just thought i'd point that stuff out.
