In other words, if you use optimatch you don't have to play against an opponent that uses EO if you don't want to.

Jaggies occur when the developers of a game can't or won't use anti-aliasing. Without anti-aliasing, some objects can appear too lego-ised on your screen. If you're playing a Lego game that's fine, but if you want objects to be slick and rounded it may make the game look sloppy.
