i really, really like the Kyokugenryu techniques since it gives me that old "Kara-tay!" movie feel and the "Learn Karate and be Bad@$$!!" classic feel, whereas Street Fighter's Shotokan techniques are boring and recycled too often, whereas the kyokugen characters have totally different look and style for every technique they have (Takuma, Ryo and Robert have different animations for Koh-oh-ken, Hien Shippu Kyaku and sometimes Kohou). meanwhile, shotoks who all have Shoryuken, Hurricane kick and Hadou Ken that all have the same sprites.
