Sonic Council is a sub-par anime-style Saturn fighting game which was (incredibly) released as late as 1998. The graphics are first-generation SNES quality, the character design uninspired and the gameplay is basic and repetitive. Though the controls are more responsive than Angel Eyes' and more intuitive than Astra Superstars, there is next to nothing to hold one's attention for more than ten minutes. I even wrote a review for the game last September, headlined "It biteth like a serpent." I might post it here if I get around to it. Having recently bought Groove On Fight, I was hoping for another obscure gem, but a letdown it was. (The same held true when I later purchased Asuka 120% Burning Fest Final and Angel Eyes after experiencing Advanced Variable Geo 2. Optimism is not always well-founded.)
