I guess it can be done with a cheat file for Kawaks or Nebula, though i don´t have one for it, i think (am at work right now -__-)
I´ll check for you when i get home.
Other option is to make use of the save state option in the emulator.
Get to the stage you want to replay for practice and when you are about to start, click in the windowbar of nebula or kawaks and under the first colom8file) , there should be an option state save...in that you can save the place you are so next time you open that state, you´ll start directly where you saved your game.
