Ever since KOF 99, SNK have encrypted their games to make them harder to dump. As we all know, that encryption was all but beaten a long time ago so it doesn't make much difference anymore, but all the newer games still have it. The encrypted dumps are identical to what you would find on the carts themselves, while the decrypted ones are... well, already decrypted Basically, if you have en encrypted set, this will take up more memory on our PC as the emulator has to decrpyt the roms on the fly, and loading will take longer, depending on what spec PC you have. If you have a pre-decrypted set, then the emulator won't have to do the extra work, hence faster loading times. They wouldn't bother having decrypted sets online at all if all PC's could load them, but the decrypted sets are just faster if you have a low-spec machine. FYI, if you have an encrpyted set, you can get Kawaks to turn the gfx roms into decrpyted ones for you by using an option in the emulator. See the Kawaks readme for more info on that Kaz so either having decrypted or encrypted it don't matter right?
